Travel updates for COVID-19

Regarding the corona virus (covid-19) situation, we will share any information that may be relevant to your trip to Kinosaki Onsen & Japan on this page.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: To continue combatting the spread of corona virus, the government of Japan has declared a temporary state of emergency affecting a limited number of areas in Japan, including Hyogo prefecture (Kinosaki Onsen is located in northern Hyogo prefecture).

Although Northern Hyogo prefecture has experienced comparatively fewer infections, in consideration of the state of emergency our properties will have the following temporary closure dates:

Nishimuraya Honkan: 19 January 2021 ~ 5 February 2021
Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei: 18 January 2021 ~ 5 February 2021
Nishimuraya Ricca: 18 January 2021 ~ 5 February 2021

Sanpou Nishimuraya will continue operations but with last alcohol service at 19:00 and early closure at 20:00. Irregular closure days may occur.

Reservations are still being accepted from 6 February 2021 onward. Please note that based on conditions the temporary closure period may be extended or see other changes.

Nishimuraya Honkan, Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei, Nishimuraya Ricca & Sanpou Nishimuraya are open and welcoming guests every day. NOTE: limited closures in effect due to state of emergency / see above for details.

SPECIAL NOTICE: residents of Japan irrespective of citizenship may qualify for the “Go To Travel” discount when staying at our properties for a limited time. See this page for details.

We know many of our guests living overseas are limited by travel restrictions. If you have a reservation with us and your trip is not possible due to travel restrictions, inquire with the website or travel agent you booked with about changing or cancelling. If you have any difficulties contact us for assistance – our team is standing by to assist you with any questions or inquiries.

NOTICE: International Travel to Japan

Japan is currently closed to most international travel, however limited business travel has been resumed between certain countries and is being expanded.

With the coming 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, planning has begun for resuming international travel, though details, dates, etc. are still undecided.
