Travel updates for COVID-19

Regarding the corona virus (covid-19) situation, we will share any information that may be relevant to your trip to Kinosaki Onsen & Japan on this page.

Nishimuraya Honkan, Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei, Nishimuraya Ricca, Sanpou Nishimuraya and the public hot springs of Kinosaki Onsen are all operating and welcoming guests daily.

In accordance with national and local health regulations, our properties maintains strict environmental hygiene controls. Our staff routinely conducts hand washing & use of alcohol disinfectant as well as other hygiene and health safety measures. Additionally, alcohol disinfectant spray is provided at several locations and we encourage all guests to similarly be mindful of routine health & hygiene practices as recommended by both international & national health safety organizations.

For a limited time, Japanese government officials have recommended and requested that certain events and facilities where large numbers of people may gather be temporarily postponed, canceled or closed:

  • Kinosaki Marine World (an aquarium near Kinosaki Onsen) was closed but has re-opened as of March 30th (some attractions remain closed).
  • Hyogo Park for the Oriental White Stork is closed until March 31st.
  • Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei’s breakfast buffet is closed temporarily. Guests staying at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei with breakfast-included rates during this time will enjoy traditional Japanese-style breakfast served privately in their guest room.

JR trains are running. Certain seasonal trains & seasonal schedules are experiencing limited cancellations based on passenger demand. For Kansai Area check JR West home page. No regularly scheduled trains to Kinosaki Onsen are currently affected.
